Stephen Renick Durand    1992-2016

 

I would like to tell you a little bit about who Stephen Durand was.  First and foremost he saw himself as an artist, a creative initiator who saw shapes, color and kindness in a sometimes-harsh world.  He loved to write and use his knowledge to enhance the attributes of his illustrated characters.  He always had a pencil and sketchbook by his side as he would develop unique and often complicated characters.  Always telling a story through his work, he found that this was the perfect way to communicate.  His soul was gentle, forgiving and very loving and he always found the good in everyone, which transformed into the goodness of the characters he drew.  Art is a gift that should be shared by all and explored by those seek to experience new ways of looking our world!
